Hi ladies. I am 16 weeks, have been watching what I eat, and work out still approx 4-5 days a week anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes. Last week I was 134.6 this morning I was 136.4. Is it normal to gain over two pounds in one week? I was 130 pounds when I found out in October, and the doc said I was doing good. I have an appt tomorrow morning and am sort of freaking out. Trying not to eat any Superbowl snacks...am I worrying for nothing?

I think that's totally normal. I had a spike somewhere around that time too. Remember that it's not just fat. You're producing more blood, placenta, amniotic fluid, and a baby! Your body's doing all kinds of stuff right now. Plus if you're only weighing once a week you might be at a point today where you haven't had a bowel movement or you're holding water. 10 in a week would be a lot but 2 isn't something to worry about.

Thanks Stephanie. I guess I just don't expect to gain so much so fast. I thought it was more like a half a pound a week. Just a scary thought that I am less than halfway there. Hope every week is not like this week. Lol.

Well, Baby Center says it's normal but I too cannot help freaking out and depressing over it. Like you, I have been very careful with what I eat and also exercising 5-7 times a week, but still can't keep the crazy weight gain off. I have gained 5 lbs in less than 20 days since I completed 13 weeks and the weight just keeps building up. I am now 17 w 5 days and have already gained 10+ lbs. It is very depressing.
