Who shot first (Han, of course!)?
Zombies or aliens?
Pirates or ninjas?
Books or movies (books!)?

And go!

<_< I don't pick favorites.. >_> But if I did they would be very eclectic. :)

Han certainly shot first. Even if he didn't he has a Wookie on his side and everyone knows that it is best to let the Wookie win. ^_^

Zombies I'm not so keen on, shooting them I'd do without hesitation. I've actually been told that I am on several people's zombie apocalypse teams. I hunt (rifle and crossbow), I know quite a bit about gardening, I know how to "rough it", and if I can get to my dad's house he basically has an arsenal in his basement.

Aliens, call The Doctor he will sort things out. If you are confronted by a Weeping Angel or have two shadows.. I'm sorry, I'm so Sorry.

I like both Ninjas and Pirates. *Gasp!*

Books and movies both have their good points and bad points. With an imagination like mine reading a book is like playing a movie in my head. Usually I like the movie more if I read the book after the movie. If I read the book before the movie I have my own ideas of how the characters look and when they cut things out for the movie it grates on me the whole movie.

Han absolutely, 100% shot first and I don't care what anyone says, or whatever stupid remastering they did!! That's mother****ing Han Solo!! Of course he's gonna shoot first! That dude was going to kill him, you don't wait for them to get a shot in first!! Hell no, shoot his stupid alien balls off!!

Remastering is another issue, too. I might be in the minority here, but I love the crappy, low quality special effects in old sci-fi movies!! That's half the fun! Plus it's just jarring to have footage that's clearly from the 60s/70s, and then 80s/90s style special effects. It looks stupid as hell! Give me a plastic ship on a string over that, any day!

If there were a zombie apocalypse, I would die. I have no doubts about it. I'd be so freakin' dead. So, as long as it's not the "everybody's already infected" type, I'd probably take myself out to prevent turning into a zombie and possibly taking a bite out of someone I loved. Even if you do survive, what kind of life is that? A super crappy one, that's what! Constantly running, afraid that day will be your last. No thanks!

Aliens are a cool topic. I hope we're not alone, but the chances of anyone even finding us are pretty astronomical (hehe). Then there's the whole issue of hostile vs. peaceful. And we're not exactly super peaceful ourselves. Zombies definitely seems more likely to actually happen, haha!

    I choose pirate ninjas.

There are very few times I'd pick the movie over the book. If I've read the book first, little missed details in the movies can annoy me, though not as bad as they did when I was younger. I remember being so annoyed when I saw Queen of the Damned in theaters. THEY GAVE LESTAT BROWN HAIR, I MEAN COME ON!! Anne Rice always spent like half of each book talking about his blonde hair! Nowadays I can let things slide a bit more. Usually to fully enjoy a book-based movie, I have to have not read the book, haha. Like, The Great Gatsby. That was wonderful!! Never read the book. Though now I kind of want to!

Funnily enough, the only movie I prefer over the book is Interview With the Vampire. I just could not get through that book without falling asleep, but the movie was amusing.

I could go on at length how irritated I was at HP 6 for changing things that didn't need to be changed, but let me limit myself to this overall point for all movies:
If the book has a boy 1) driving to Paris 2) in a blue car 3) while carrying a red rose, then why the heck would you change it in the movie to a boy 1) driving to Rouen 2) in a red truck 3) while carrying a yellow daffodil? If it serves no purpose to the plot to change it up, why do it? grrrrrrr.

Interview with a Vampire was great! That's why I was so disappointed in the film adaptation of Queen of the Damned. Anne Rice was my JAM as a teenager, haha. I read all of the Vampire Chronicles, some multiple times (Memnoch the Devil would probably be my favorite).

I don't understand it either. Why change details like that when you know it's just gonna piss the book readers off!! Especially if it adds nothing to the story. It's one thing to adapt a book to better fit the medium of film, but when the book specifically describes someone as having blonde hair, give them blonde hair damn it! Mentioning The Great Gatsby again, I loved how they used modern music, and retro-sounding remakes of modern music, within the film. That's a cool change to make! That draws in your modern audience and helps them connect to characters that were created almost 100 years ago. Giving Lestat brown hair instead of blonde is just stupid.

^^^ So much this! If you have something epic, as epic as Star Wars (the original, I don't get started on I, II, and III), fans love it as is! The original is so iconic, and the new effects just don't mesh. If I had kids, they'd be watching the originals for sure!

Now, about the NEW NEW Star Wars they're working on... :noway:

And it's one thing to OFFER a remastered version, but I can't find the non-remastered DVDs of Star Trek TOS ANYWHERE for a reasonable price!! It'd cost me hundreds of dollars to get the original versions. It's such crap!! And my mom tried to get me season 1 for Christmas, and they sent her the remastered version anyway, IN A BROKEN CASE NO LESS!! I didn't have the heart to tell her it was the wrong one, though. Stupid independent Amazon sellers.

I haven't read much of the news about the new Star Wars. The prequel trilogy kinda soured my taste on any new Star Wars stuff, haha.
