Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share with me some pics during both of their bulk and cut cycles. I'm aware my body will start to change while I'm bulking, and probably not in the way I'd like. I feel like I'll gain chub on my abdomen and any abs that were once there will be gone.. for a little. So it would be nice if you could share your story with pics just to keep me motivated.
Thanks! xoxoxo

Most are still bulking right now but many of us will start cutting soon. I know many of the logs that are updated have photos in them. Only took beginning of bulk pics, no recent ones until I complete my bulk.
And yes, most do lose their abs when bulking correctly. I did but I could of cared less.0 -
I've got pre-bulk- I have more I just took but haven't loaded. i can update my log when I get home for you- I've put on about 7 lbs and changed almost 2 sizes in just shy of 4 months.0

I only have taken pre bulk so far. I never really had a 6 pack abs but I did have obliques that pretty hard to see right now
I'll take final bulk pics in another 2-3 weeks (depending on how long I decide to continue). I can notice the loss of definition in my legs, arms and abdomen…..hubby, however said I don't look that different.
But..like Holly said, yeah….you'll lose your "abs" if you bulk properly. It is what it is and they will come back when you cut.0 -
Ok thanks! Yea I assume since it's winter everyone is in their bulk phase. But I guess if anyone has done a cycle before and had pictures from that I would like to see.
Being overweight my whole life doesn't really help my confidence :P But when I was quickly losing weight I didn't gain much muscle at all (I took a pre and post body composition analysis). So this whole idea freaks me out a bit but I know I will see much better gains by fueling my body appropriately.

what's your lifting like at this point? are you on a program- did I miss that from another thread?
That's going to make a huge difference- for a lot of reason- one of them being mental/psychological.
It's NOT easy- it's definitely work and you MUST keep that long term goal in mind- if you don't have it- you'll flounder- it's hard. Gotta keep the eyes on the prize!0 -
I try to lift 6 times per week with one rest day. Minimum 4 times. I do a leg day, chest/back day, and a bicep/tricep/shoulder day. Then I do one day of really light cardio.
I'm still working on figuring out how heavy I can lift. I tried to bench press too much and almost dropped it so I am SLOWLY increasing my weight. I made up my own program looking at bodybuilding.com and other websites. I typically spend 1 hour - 1.5 hours at the gym.
I'm still on the same program because I don't really know how frequently I should switch it up.0 -
switching it up is over rated- keep to compound lifts and rotate accessory lifts.
You really can't go wrong with compounds.
Learn how to dump the lifts too-
so for bench- google up "roll of shame" and then also you can leave the collars off and you can just tip the bar to one side and drop weight off one side.
That's not my preferred method- I think it's a little dangerous in a big gym if it's busy- but knowing how to do that is important.
Other option : power cage- set the bench in there- and set the safety rails up so they catch it just above/at your chest. If you fall between pegs- use 2.5 or 5 pound weights to adjust the height of the bench from the floor.
4-6 times is good- sounds like a decent enough split. I personally like doing 2 leg days (legs make up what- 70% of your body or some such- so I think they deserve more than one day).,
You're on the right track- just takes time- this is not a quick process for sure. LOL
Oh *kitten*- I promised you updated pictures LOL. let me get to that.0 -
Gah- really hate to do this- but whatever- you asked LOL- I feel like such a fat kid right now!
1st weekend in November-
First weekend in Febuary
and holy crap do I look huge- sorry they lighting is dim- I got lazy and forgot to do them during the day. And since they were supposed to be 'half way' pictures I didn't care as much LOL
