Best gadgets?

Since I'm guessing we have a lot of tech-lovers here, I'm interested in hearing what everyone's favorite gadget, app, or other technology is for helping with your weight loss or fitness goals.

My two favorites (other than MFP!) are:

- Zombies Run! app - it's like a C25K program, but with a storyline that revolves around zombies. It's fun to listen to, integrates well with the music on my phone, and keeps me motivated.

- Chromecast - this little gadget allows me to 'cast' youtube from my phone to my tv, which is great for workout videos!

  • I'm using the Zombies, Run! 5k training app as well. It's a real motivator.
I also have a dance pad for StepMania (a freeware version of DDR) which makes a fun cardio workout when it's freezing outside.

I use MFP of course, and I used to use Fitocracy a lot. You get experience points for your workouts and level up, and there are achievements. It's really fun!

I also like to use my Wii Fit when I feel like my balance or posture needs work, and the yoga is fun and relaxing. Lately I've been using my PS2 to play DDR non-stop! I have Max 2, Extreme, and SuperNova. Been playing that game for over 10 years, it's one of my favorites!!

I'd love to get a HRM or one of those FitBit type gadgets, but I can't afford it! They seem really neat, though.

I had a FitBit. It is really neat for what it is (basically it's a fancy pedometer). I miss DDR! I have all the old games for the PS2 but no more pads. Does anyone remember playing (or has even heard of) Finger Finger Revolution? It was a website where you basically DDR'd with you fingers on the keyboard. I might have to go Google that now...

I bet you could find a pad for cheap somewhere! Craigslist, maybe an independent video game shop, or eBay or Amazon. I only have one pad left, and it's had a hard life, haha!

I've never heard of that site, but it sounds cool! I used to play DDR with a normal control sometimes, haha.

One day, when I am able to run longer than one city block without triggering a massive asthma attack that sends me flopping like a fish on the concrete, I totally want to do the Zombie 5K. :D

Besides MFP, I use Impetus, a timer app that is super easy to use and great for circuit, interval training, and tabata. I also use Daily Yoga, and though I've been too cheap to try out their premium routines, the free stuff is pretty great.
