different types of carbs?

So i'm going to try out this low carb thing, as I have PCOS and insulin resistance... but I am unclear on the different types of carbs and which ones are good and which ones are bad and what types of foods you find each of them in.

can someone please help clear this up for me?? i would really really really appreciate the help!

    I won't claim to give a definitive answer but in general, you want more complex carbs and fewer simple carbs.
    I try to make my carbs those from dairy, veggies and (some) fruit, whole grains, brown rice, etc. rather than white flour, white sugar, regular pasta, etc. Overall I try to keep an eye on my ratio of carbs to protein. I try to eat at least 100 gm protein/day and no more than 100-120 gm carbs.
