Personally if I had to choose, I wouldn't have minded being a machine.I mean for starters you would never have to diet again or go for a poop
Maybe one day I might be able to squeeze into that black spandex suit Trinity wears.
Whats your favourite sci-fi movie?
Growing up I loved:
Equilibrium
Event Horizon
Blade Runner
Short Cuts
Red Planet
I Robot
Pitch black
GATTACA
MInority Report
Predator
Sunshine
Robocop
Judge Dredd
Stealth
Basically any sci-fi set in space or dystopia/utopia has my vote
and My all time fave Aliens.

In addition to yours, I'd add:
Star Wars (for sure)
Serenity
Star Trek Into Darkness(of course)0 -
I was always more into Fantasy than Sci-Fi but there are definitely some classics I grew up with and still watch:
Alien series
Blade Runner
Dune (it was so bad it was good and got me into the actual books!)
Event Horizon
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the movie was fun but the books are hilarious)
Predator
Space Odyssey: 2001
Star Wars0 -
So, a few years back I rented Event Horizon not knowing what it was other than a sci-fi movie. Yeah. I hate scary movies...
I actually just saw Pitch Black (and Chronicles of Ridd-ick (freaking MFP is censoring that name...)) for the first time this past weekend! Good stuff! And even though Pitch Black was a monster movie, it wasn't really scary, so I enjoyed it.
I think everyone has already hit on most of my favorites. Though I'd sub out Star Trek Into Darkness for a classic like Wrath of Khan or Search for Spock.
Oh, have you guys seen Moon? Really great movie! And speaking of the moon, Iron Sky is amazing, haha!0 -
I can't believe I forgot Serenity. I loved loved loved it.Shame Firefly got canned so quickly.
Dune was great and epic.We need more Sci-fi like it.
I have never heard of Iron Sky but I will be go on IMDB and hopefully queue it on netflix.0 -
It should still be on Netflix. NAZIS ON THE MOOOOON!!!0

Love me some sci-fi films! A guilty pleasure of mine is Fifth Element--I'm pretty sure I've seen it at least 20 times.

This might be TMI but has anyone figured out the whole "3 sea shells" thing LOL
I loved the Fifth Element. That Chris Tucker has a serious mouth on him.0 -
Some people claim they have, but the whole point is to not know, haha. It's far too advanced for our primitive early 21st century brains!0

OH MAN.
OK, so, I have this friend who loves horror movies, the grosser and scarier, the better. Give him a lil Dario Argento, and all is well. Event Horizon freaks -him- out, and he has no idea how -I- can watch it (since I am like you, and hate scary/gross/gory/gorny movies).
And I told him it's easy:
a) I watch it at noon with bright sunshine streaming thru the window
b) I watch it at the same time as doing something else, like playing Sims (distracted by making people go to work or get in the hot tub) or making food (so I have reasons to run out and check things)
and c) *cough*ithasSamNeillinitsothatmakeseverythingok*cough*
