New Pain?

As you know, I've been at this Leslie thing for a long time(since Sept 2012). I've had to modify some of the movements due to
cerebral palsy, and hold on to the walker while working out. Also had to go to half-speed while recovering from a GI virus.

What I'm wondering about is new pain in my shoulders and triceps. All I'm doing is holding my walker; my lower body is
doing all the work. The pain is no worse than "normal" exercise pain and fades out a few hours post exercise. It's just
that it's new...I did not experience this pre-GI virus.

The modifications I'm doing are single sidesteps instead of doubles because my balance is off, even for me. My
knee lifts are not as deep as everyone else's due to not being able to bend so deeply. For the same reason, I
do backward leg kicks instead of kickbacks. I walk in place instead of jogging or bouncing during the HIIT parts.
I do separate arm work because I can't do arms and hold the walker at the same time. Usually either 3 pounds
or less frequently 15-20 pounds on a pulley machine. So far it's worked. Just not sure what's going on right now.

Insights or suggestions, anybody?

Hi Sue, My only thought is that since it seems to be acting like regular exercise discomfort perhaps you were more sick than you realized, and maybe your body is still tired/ worn out from the ordeal, and that your body is still trying to recover fully which includes regaining your stamina and strength as it was before.

Please be patient with yourself, and take it a bit easy while you are still recovering. GI illnesses tend to wear us down because we weren't able to eat well and also more than likely experienced a degree of dehydration due to the illness and how it affected our total GI system :noway: .

Sue, I'm praying for your full recovery of health and strength,
