Most useful links

I finally gave in, even though the title of this thread put me off, and found one of the best written, common sense filled articles for anyone doing what we all are trying to do.
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants
And then I thought, I need to share this. And then...What if others in the group have links to share?
Obviously we need another sticky thread just for useful links.
So, if you have them, add them, that we all may benefit!

But seriously, Dan.
The guy you quoted above, SideSteel, is amazing. He has a group full of common sense help called "Eat, Train, Progress." I found it when looking for references on eating back exercise calories at:

'Nother great idea, friend.

Paula,
Your logic is circular. Do you work in the Department of Redundancy Department?
dw
Ah, so desu ne!
Thanks for the second post with link!0 -
No, Dan. But I did apply for a job in the Department of Funny Walks. Didn't get it. Guess I wasn't funny enough!
The "city of Redwood City" answers their phones like that. Makes me giggle!
Japanese, really?! I'm impressed!! :smokin:0 -
Yeah, that's the group I joined "Eat, Train, Progress" not sexypants. I will never be eligible to join that group.0

Paula,
I've phoned Redwood City before and they didn't answer with "Department of Funny Walks"". I guess this new?
Your link is the first thing that I've read that explained eating back your exercise calories that I've understood. I just changed my calories and macros based on TDEE and their recommendation on macros. I'll see how it goes.

Where do I apply for funny walks? I have one leg shorter than the other so I have been accused of walking like I am on a listing ship. Maybe I could get hired!
"City of Redwood City?". Yep, that fits lol.
You now know 50% of my Japanese language skills. Shogun didn't teach me that much!0 -
Back to the purpose of this thread:
Looking for low calorie Crockpot recipes? Check out some of these:
http://www.aimeesadventures.com/RecipeFiles/Crockpot1/Crockpot.html
This site hasn't been updated in a few years, but it is still there. This person put together thousands of recipes (no, I haven't counted them to verify that claim) that you can search through. http://www.mikey57.com/

This link specifically goes to monthly challenges, but the site itself has other information on it. I love the name of it though. http://shrinkingjeans.net/category/move-it/monthly-workout-calendar/
A place to create additional tickers that can be added in, most probably know this site already.: http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ticker_designer.php?type=8
This has a few of the common mistakes and clicking next at the end goes into diet tips: http://www.webmd.com/diet/ss/slideshow-diet-mistakes
There's a few of the ones I use. The one I use most often is the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans, mostly for the fitness challenges.0 -
LOOK AT THIS VIDEO! It's a very simple example of how many extra calories you may be getting without realizing it.

I have been very casual in eye-balling my food measurements. And I thought I was at least eating close to a weight-loss level. But watching this video helped me realize how important it is to measure accurately. No wonder I'm not losing weight!
Good luck! :drinker:

And here is where I found that link about measuring food. This site has more good information. I found it care of SideSteel from the "Eat, Train, Progress" website which somebody here (Dan?) turned me onto:
http://body-improvements.com/resources/eat/
Great stuff!
