WOOT!!! So excited! So...I've read the comics to a little past where they are presently in the episodes...and keep wondering if the Sanctuary is the same place as the community that "Jesus" first brings them too....and a little disappointed that Abe didn't look at all like the comic character, with the exception of the handlebar mustache...I imagined him more...muscles and more like the comics portrayed him.0

FINNNNNAAALLLLLLLLLYYYYYYY
But the comic and the show have moved so far apart in narrative that it would be hard to spoil anyone.
I don't watch the show.0 -
I've noticed that too - some things I've enjoyed- like the changes in some of the characters, and the addition of Daryl/Merle story lines...and obviously, the show looks like Judith survives, in the comics, that wasn't the case...
I've read a couple of the novels, with some of the back stories - like the one about the Governor- that one was really interesting.0 -
What issue is everyone up to?0
-
I'm up to Issue 96. I remember when I was the only girl in the comic book shop going to get the Walking Dead. Now I have a hard time finding them. I've started ordering the Books through amazon which are 10 issues bound together.0

I've read those too. I don't know that I would have read them if they weren't connected to the Walking Dead storyline. They aren' t the most well written zombie lit.0 -

I'm not sure where I am exactly, because I was reading the Walking Dead Comics in graphic novel style? I think I was on #19 or #20, but past where the Governor is dead...0

I've been getting the graphic novella things from the library, but have read all the way to the last issue they had...I might have to see if they DO have the comicbooks available...but I'd have to actually go in and browse through to figure out where I actually am in the comics.0 -
Well, I read Issue #123 Just the other day. I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK ABOUT IT WITH LOLOLOLOL0
-
ok...so I almost was thinking at the entrance to Terminus, that it would be "Jesus" that was there, before she turned around....lol0
-
I've read through Vol. 17. They've met Negan.0
-
do you mean you think Joe is Negan? that's kinda my thinking...0
-
I meant that I'm at the point in the comics that Rick and gang meet Negan.
I have thought that Joe is Negan. What makes me think it's not is that they haven't even hinted at a larger group somewhere and Negan's group is very large. Although a large group would need some rules like Joe's group has so maybe they are introducing Negan's group in a different way.
I have wondered if they are going to include the group that killed Dale in the comics. I thought they might skip over it, but then they had Mary cooking in Terminus. I didn't know if that had any significance beyond implying Terminus was stocked with food.0 -
thinking now that Joe is NOT Negan, because clearly, in the comics, it took longer to get there, but the scene of ripping out the throat, etc, that did echo the comic.
The group did encounter a small band of cannibals though, it wasn't presented like the Terminus thing (earlier in the series, I'm not that far in, but I'm past the part where Rick meets Negan)...which also makes me wonder....if Beth was abducted by the "preacher" that the comics had around the same time as the cannibal people...0 -
And here I am again feeling left out because I don't watch the show....
What is terminus?0 -
Anyone read the monthly single issues?0

What! Not sure why you are here without watching the show?0 -

What! Not sure why you are here without watching the show?
Because this is a group for fans. And because this is a thread for the comic book the show is based on, which is what I am a fan of.0 -
so...anyone think Beth's kidnapper could be the preacher from the comics? like maybe he was living at the funeral home? Thought that could be ONE story line they introduce...since he was with the group when they killed the cannibals in the comic, so he wouldn't vouch for them when they went to the other new community with the solar power...0

Ya Thats what I'm thinking I'm behind on the comics only about 80 Issues in0 -
Ok, so I was wrong about Beth's kidnapper. Lol but, def see the community coming up, and the showdown with Neegan..(I think??! I HAVE been wrong before!)0
