Walk It Off in 30 Days

Anyone else doing Walk It Off in 30 Days?

I'm on day 7, my rest day. The first week was tough for me as I'm pretty out of shape. I've been walking with Leslie since February 10th, and usually work through the Ultimate 5 Day walk plan or random other walks before I started the 30 Day Walk It Off on March 3rd. The first session of Firm 30 kicked my butt, resulting in a TON of leg soreness for most of this week. It finally dissipated by yesterday and I made it through the 3rd set of Firm 30 without pain and kept up.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the 30 days. With the soreness gone, I can tell I'm getting stronger at least in my legs. I had to up the arm weights from 5 to 8 (like Leslie does in the video) for bicep curls because I wasn't really feeling the fatigue with only 5 lbs.

Was wondering if anyone else was doing or has done the 30 days of Burn 30 and Firm 30 and if you do any additional walks along with it or just do the alternating days of Burn and Firm.

I did Leslie's Walk It Off in 30 about 2 months ago and loved it. It made me a lot stronger and helped me to keep my core strength from mountain climbing over the summer. I did not experience the soreness you report, but I also had to up it to 8 pound weights. I had been doing Leslie's walks before and have continued since then. When I did it, I did exactly as Leslie instructed and did Firm 30 one day followed by Burn 30 the next, but I added a 5 mile walk on Sundays. I needed to keep my calorie deficit. You will feel much stronger when you are done with the 30 days. Enjoy!

Ah...another Whovian, I see! Well met! I have not done the Walk it Off in 30 Days...but I keep eyeballing it every time I go to the store  . I switch it up with Leslie and do a mix of her workouts...either the ones that I have or ones that I find on YouTube. So thinking I'm going to get the WIOF in 30 Days next time I'm at the store!

Ahh ok. I might add something on Sundays. I felt kinda guilty for not working out today. After the first day (Burn 30) I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes at the gym while my daughter was in swim practice. I was going to do the same after Firm 30 but like I said... the squats killed me! I was coming from being pretty sedentary before I started walking with Leslie so I have a lot of muscle to build/wake from inactivity.

I was doing a lot "more" in terms of miles before I started the 30 days, because I check my Fitbit progress almost neurotically and was always trying to hit my daily step goal. I feel guilty most days now because I don't put much of a dent in it with the Burn and Firm, but I know I'm still getting a decent workout. I might just continue walking in the evenings during her practice now that I'm over the first week of soreness.

Yes! Once a Whovian, always a Whovian. Or SuperWhoLockian! Nice to meet you too!

So far I like the 30 days, but then again, I enjoy most of Leslie's workouts. I have a variety too, including the Ultimate 5 Days, 5 Mega Miles, 4 Mile Power Walk, and Walk Slim 5 Really Big Miles. I enjoy her enthusiasm even though towards the end of a mile I'm usually cursing her (or when she calls for more double knee lifts!)

    ^_^

    Yes! SuperWhoLockian! Me too!
I love Leslie....I will admit that I have a tendency to mute her. I will start out listening but then after about a mile or so I just want to kick her in the shin lol!! I have a lot of her DVD's and then I have more from YouTube saved. I have been going between the 3 miles with abs and Punch Up Your Walk and 5 mile advanced. I have the 5 Really Big Miles, but there is one woman in there (if it's the one I'm thinking it is) that she has do a section and man does she annoy me LOL!!

Walk it Off in 30 Days is a great workout with all those lunges and squats. I had to modify a little at first and not go too deep, because the next day getting off of a chair was miserable. :-)
