Hey everyone! I hope everyone is well!
I had a high sodium weekend..i decided to reward myself this weekend with some fast food on saturday and sunday! (totally regretting it now).
I know that i did not go over my calories, but the scale went from 139.8 on saturday morning to 141.8 monday morning!!
These cannot be true pounds, anybody have any insight on this?

Your body is likely retaining water because of the sodium. The same thing happened to me the other week when I noticed a jump in pounds, then looked back on my diary and noticed that, though I was consistently eating at a deficit, I was regularly eating some high sodium items (such as soy sauce). I started tracking my sodium intake better, aimed to stay under 1500 mg daily (the original recommended intake, which has since been increased to 2000 with a maximum of 2300 because of the unrealistic goal for the average person who consumes much more to reduce to only 1500 mg) and lost the water weight. Your muscles can also retain water if you are doing a lot of strength training. I wouldn't worry too much as long as you have still been eating at a deficit. Also, as you did mention you were eating fast food, were you able to accurately track it with nutritional information offered by their restaurant or website? Sometimes we can well underestimate calories if we aren't weighing and cooking the food items ourselves. However, if you were able to obtain this nutritional information and track properly, I wouldn't worry as it's just water weight.0

To get rid of the water weight, in addition to watching your sodium intake and drinking water, eat more gross and veggies. The potassium and other electrolytes help balance you out.0
