My food diary is open... take a look if you like. I feel like I snack on fruit mostly.0

I had GD and it was an experiment in terms of what caused blood sugar spikes and what did not. For example, I could easily eat potatoes, pasta, etc.... but most fruit caused a huge spike. It was really all about spacing out the carbs throughout the day, as opposed to not eating certain things (for me anyway).
Breakfast--15-30 grams of carbs
Snack--15
Lunch--45
Snack--15
Dinner--45-60
Snack--15-20
The nutritionist I worked with advised against milk, cereal, and fruit in the morning. But gave me permission to try it out and see what happened...huge spike! So I mostly had oatmeal for breakfast during the week, egg dishes on the weekends. The other thing was she had me eat chocolate & milk every night before bed. That was nice! I was able to have thin crust pizza, potatoes or pasta as long as they were paired with meat, I had a glass of wine about once a week, and I had cake on occasion, and never once failed a blood test (I was doing 4-6 per day). Snacks were peanut butter and 1/2 an apple or crackers, cheese and crackers... Basically pair all carbs with protein and stay in the ranges stated above and I was golden. I ate more than I've EVER eaten, and gained virtually no weight for the last trimester.0
