Does anyone run..distance training..and do PX90? Do they co-exist well? My running is going fine but want to develop some upper body definition and cant lift due to shoulder issue. Just want to make sure I have enough energy for strong runs if I start doing the Px90 stuff. Thanks in advance for any insights.

I did P90X while training for a marathon last year. I only did the upper body strength training workouts, core synergistics and yoga. I skipped the cardio and leg ones. I ran 4-5 days per week and did P90X 2-3 days per week, usually on days off from running or light run days.

This counts as cross training right? :-)

I was hesitant to do both at the same time. I took a three month break from running and did P90X which was really hard. After that, I trained for an ultra.

I've done it for ages. In fact, I just finished a round of P90X3 tonight after a 4 mile run. :)

I would axe most of the cardio though, you don't need it, but be careful not to cut anything that's working your core or legs. you need those strong legs. :)

I did them together for a while but cut most of the cardio stuff. Just did the strength training.

Running after your first PLYO workout is FUN!
