Just Joined

Hello, finally put my app to use. I was horrified to see that my oatmeal and milk breakfast was almost 500 calories. Here to making myself more accountable.

    Welcome! Just a thought....check to see if you were measuring dry or cooked oatmeal. 500 calories sounds like a lot!

    I agree with you marsellient. Isn't it 1/2 cup dry oatmeal = 1 cup cooked and about 150 calories?

    And marnadg8r - as far as being "accountable" measure, measure, measure! Try this - the next time you have something (mashed potato for example) spoon your regular amount onto your plate and then actually measure a serving and put it next to what you normally eat - talk about a shocker!!
