I know this is daft but I need some advice.

I had planned to do a 10k race this evening, I was really looking foward to it but I have a really sore throat and head this past few days. I woke up shivering and sweating last night ( nice) so am not feeling the mae west. However...I have dosed myself up with paracemtol and vit. D and I really really wanted to do the race.. am I being silly thinking about doing it ?

It's not a good idea to run with a fever because exercise/running will just make your temp go even higher. If you don't have a fever later and the sickness is just from your neck up you should be ok to run assuming you still feel like it. Sickness from the neck down is generally a no-go. Hope you feel better soon!

Rest up this time and come back stronger next time round.

I did a race with similar symptoms and ended up with a couple of months of nastiness that probably would have gone within the week otherwise.

If you have pain below the neck, you probably shouldn't run.
