The secret to weight loss

I love it when my friends and co-workers ask me what's my secret! OMG!! If there was a secret Oprah or Oz would have found it and told the world. Weight loss is frustrating and it hurts. I'm retraining my stomach how to stop before I'm full so not being able to binge like I use to is frustrating and the pain of working out hurts (duh) for days. However, not being able to wear the clothes I wanted to was even more frustrating (or worse having to give away clothes that use to fit that I LOVED) and the pain of carrying all that weight on my joints hurt more. So there it is, the secret of weight loss is when you get sick enough of what you weigh and how you feel to do something about it. Can my sisters say AMEN!

Exactly! Most often the side effects include death. I'm not trying to be casket sharp just yet

It is really crazy . . . people would rather you tell them something extreme or just stupid - I'm on the only have air on odd days diet! Than to accept it when you say, I have been watching my calories and working out.

Just this morning someone was offering me one of those backhanded semi compliments - Oh, you look really good, how did you lose the weight - I responded that I was counting calories and working out. The respond that I then received was - 'Do you think that will last, I just can't diet, I don't think it works!'

I never said - diet, I haven't even reached my goal and already people are wondering if I will keep off the weight. July will be two years that I have been consistently losing weight, I could see the scepticism if I had eaten the golden goose egg and the next day showed up 80 lbs lighter - but I have put in a lot of hard work and it is so aggravating when someone blows off your work in favor of a magic pill.

It just makes you not want to discuss it all, in fear of how you are going to react to some stupid, insensitive comment.

I feel you. It definitely takes motivation and consistency which is more easier said than done. I think being on MFP is a good step in getting that motivation and support you need while holding yourself accountable.
