Hi Everyone,
I'm a mom, and I work from home. I gained 15 lbs when I stopped going to the office and began telework. I was already plus sized to begin with, so the extra 15 lbs made me an even unhappier camper. I have a 2 and a 5 year old daughter. They keep me busy, but I'm not as active with them as I wish I could be due to my weight. I work full-time during the day and work full-time when I get home! I've never been into fitness, but I've always been into food. I love food. I'm pretty knowledgeable about nutrition, cooking, baking, plating etc...and I'm basically a foodie.
I started with Beach Body when I bought the Power 90 last year. I wanted to do the P90X but I thought it was too difficult. I loved Tony's workouts, did them 4-5 times a week, but I didn't lose much weight. My problem was my eating. I eat healthy. Actually, I eat damn healthy, but I eat way too much. CORRECTION! I used to eat too much. As Autumn Calabrese says, "no one can out train a bad diet". I use quotations but I didn't quote her verbatim.
After completing my first round of the 21 day fix, I lost 11 inches in total. I dropped 1 dress size, gained a crap load of energy, gained muscle and strength, and confidence. In my first week of round 2, I lost 2 lbs and went up in my weights. I began with a 2 lb and 5 lb, now I'm using a 5 lb and 8 lb.
I'm not perfect. I'm not a fitness instructor, I'm not a nutritionist, nor a dietitian. I'm just a mom on who's crazy into research, and who's on a path to wellness. This is the first time I've ever consistently followed a program, saw results, and can see my goals clearly. I've had my road blocks (my husband and kids had the flu for 4 days so I barely ate and didn't exercise for those 4 days), but, I take it one pound at a time, one meal at a time, and I focus on the exercise one minute at a time. I know I'll have road blocks, and I won't beat myself up about it. It's what I've learned from the 21 Day Fix program, and it works for me!
Update: Recently I've become bored of the program. I need to mix it up a bit. I'm going to see a personal trainer for a couple of months, then back to the 21 day fix for me!
