Ok so I had a hysterectomy last year after continuous bleeding and endrometris added onto my PCOS symptoms. Now most days I'm ok but lately I think my hormones are all out of whack. I'm moody and I swear I think my 5yr old wants to see mommy's head spin around. I asked the nurse about taking black cohosh for moods. and she said she'd get back to me as doctor is on vacation. Anyone have any advice or help? Have you taking black cohosh? Did it help! Thanks

I honestly don't know a lot about the suppliments and what they do. but if your doctor gives you the go ahead, let us know how it works out!

My mom took black cohash years ago to ease her menopause symptoms and this is what we learned: 1) at that time it had been relatively untested and therefore the doctor would not specifically recommend it, 2) it was, however, a very popular treatment historically and keeps getting "rediscovered", and 3) it worked wonders for my mom. It helped with mood and stopped the hot flashes. I also remember the doctor telling her not to take more than a certain dosage and to not exceed a certain amount of months in a row (that untested issue again). But mom rode out the final 8 months of her menopause on Black Cohash with no trouble at all.

That was menopause partnered with anxiety disorder. You may find another herb better suited to your situation (like St. John's Wort?? she says without really knowing). Hopefully your doctor is one who understands herbal treatments.

    Good luck!
