You guys let me in the group!!!!! Now what?? What do I do? How does this work?

My name is Heather Layton on Strava, feel free to add me. I am needing some friends to support me. I bought a used road bike last year out of the classifieds. I did a few century rides and a relay, but was really REALLY struggling.. I had to have surgery in the fall and recovered through the winter and am ready to kick some *kitten*!!!!

So excited!!!

Heather

To be honest, this group is more of a place for a bit of banter with the group challenges that strava run... like for example the "Velobici Spring Classics" thread - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1206287-velobici-spring-classics-challenge - which basically links to the challenge on Strava - http://app.strava.com/clubs/velobici

We generally have some form of thread on-going relating to the monthly distance challenges that Strava run, and of course, if there's anything that you're not sure how to get Strava to do, we have a couple of rather well experienced people in here who should be able to point you in the right direction... If you're not sure of anything, start a thread and ask.

Of course, there is another, slightly more active cycling related group on here, that are more or less all active "Stravisti" - that's the century+ cycling group - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/3764-century-plus-cycling - which you're welcome to join. The 100+ group name shouldn't be taken as being a bit intimidating - there are some people who are members that take it as 100+ miles a year, some 100+ miles a month, some a week, and a few make it in the day...

But the best bit about the Century+ group (and I'll admit it, I'm biased here - as I run most of them) is that there are some rather interesting and great fun challenges that run over the riding season.

Most of 'em tend to be "themed" around the Professional Cycling Races. So for example, there's the "Classics Challenge" which is a series of rides mainly in spring, mostly on a sunday, and which are in full flow at the moment - hence if you look on Strava you'll spot people with rides today that say "Classics Challenge - Paris Roubaix Ride" or similar, even though the person is in the UK, or South Africa, or Hong Kong, or even in the Former Colonies...

Give the group a go - we're a friendly bunch (mainly... apart from me, I'm a right miserable git!)
