Hi all,
I know quite a few of us did our first half marathons recently, I was just wondering if anyone is thinking of their second yet ?
I was thinking of the below, they do a 10k too originally I was going to do the 10K its a very moutainous race but one of the girls at the running club last night was saying I should do the half, in that I have the training done and if anything it can be my long run for this weekend.
Any opinions? I have done a bit of hill training but not a huge amount.

A race is a race, no matter the distance. It just depends on what challenge you want to present yourself with.0

If it's not your "A" race then I'd just pick whichever fits with your mileage plan goals and have fun with it. For instance, my A races are Knoxville HM and Chicago FM. Anything else I choose to do between them is really just for fun and training. As I found out this year, one too many "A" races really drain you and take away from your mileage base building because you're spending all your time tapering and/or recovering.0

I finished my first half March 29, this Saturday is my second half. I'm not really "racing" them though. I've had some physical issues (pulled my hamstring, have been sick, etc), so I'm just looking to finish them right now.0

I'd rather do a hilly half marathon than a hilly 10K.
My 10K this past weekend was hilly and it was probably the toughest race I've ever run. My first half (a year and a half ago) was murderously hilly and since it didn't have the intensity of a 10K it was a lot nicer to run.
Full disclosure: I'd rather do a half marathon than a 10K at all but if it was hilly I'd definitely do the half.0
