Hello I am excited to find a thread for gluten free peeps! There are days I feel like an army of one in my gluten free world, especially with my family. Just our household, we are a family of 7, and I can't have gluten, and it gets too expensive to make gluten free meals for all of us....but, I have learned a few tricks and I hope to learn a few more..
I have been gluten free for 3 months now (in a row lol) it has been a struggle to get to this point and have been trying for almost a year. Starting in sept last year, something flipped in my body. My thyroid got all out of wack and I gained 18lbs in 4 months. (This was all when I was trying to lose weight) I became really lathargic and depressed and was litterly a zombie for about 6 months. Not to mention the pain I was in! After months of testing and seeing multiple drs, the only diagnosis I have is, we know it's auto immune and it's attacking your joints and causing inflammation in your body. My first lupus test came back positive but my DNA-Ana was negitive. My dr said go gluten free and it has helped a lot. I also stares working out. I have noticed I the days I do less than an hour of exercise a day, my pain is high, but it's practically non exsistant on the days I work out good. So, now I am down 13 lbs and have 25 more to go!

Woot! Welcome to the group! If you need help or support, you'll certainly find it here. I've been wheat-free for more than a decade, closer to two. My husband is not GF, so I've had to get creative in finding things that are GF but aren't miserable or cost-prohibitive.

    Eventually, it gets easier. :D
