28 weeks appointment, anything important?

So the last time I went for an appointment was one month ago. I am a few days over 28 weeks and was thinking not to go for an appointment for a couple more weeks.
My question is: Is there anything important that they do at the 28 weeks appointment? I am done with my GD test. What else is there?

Did they take extra blood at your GD test? Here they take bloods at 28 weeks, but if you have the GD test, they take it then.

Otherwise it's just the usual - check your wee, check your blood pressure, measure the fundal height and listen to the heartbeat.

I had blood taken (to monitor hypothyroidism), was checked for edema, a blood pressure check, and fundal height measurement. That was all, next appointment scheduled for week 33.

They tested both GD and Iron levels last time.

Ugh, I am so not looking forward to the every other week thing! But wait, I thought that starts after 32 weeks, doesn't it?

It doesn't start til 34 weeks in England. In fact, when it's your 2nd (and subsequent) child you only get a booking appointment, 16 weeks, 28 weeks, 34 weeks, 36 weeks, 38 weeks, 40 weeks. My midwife is lovely though and understands even 3rd time mums want a bit of reassurance so I've seen her at 31 weeks too, and I think at 25 weeks also.
