America's Finest City Half Marathon

Hello there,

I am thinking of running this Half, but was wondering if there was anyone here that has run this in the past?
How is the course?
Weather around that time of the year?
I know that it is a timed course.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've run the AFC Half in SDO twice.

It's a downhill start (I call it "the sleigh ride") for about three miles, dead flat for 7 miles, about a mile uphill, and a slight downhill finish.

Temps - here's data for an ZIP code in the south part of the city:

I have a fair number of documents about my performance during the races they have to do with timing planning. This image might provide some insight into the course:

In addition to the elevation profile, the value of this is that it shows how I planned to vary my pace based on previous performance and in face of the changing elevation in order to break 2 hours.

As it is said, "your mileage may vary". :-)

This map shows a course that closely mirrors the AFC SDO Half.
