Sensitive topic : Bowel movements.

Okay not the nicest subject but one I think we all think about in some way or another. I used to go daily.
I understand that with lower calories I will move my bowels less but even though as time goes by my calorie intake is rising a bit my bowel movements are getting further apart. Right now I am on day 8 and just hoping for tomorrow. I don't feel uncomfortable but I do feel that I could probably go. But nope nothing. Anybody else experiencing this?

I think what you are experiencing is pretty normal. I think its the hi protein that causes the issue.
I had issues for about the first 7 months or so after surgery. I make an effort to be sure to get lots of fiber on a regular basis. Now being 15 months out I make sure to eat some raw vegies and a fruit daily, and that usually takes care of things. I used to put benefiber in my protein shake daily and that seemed to work for me. Even now I go only 2-3 times a week, and I am fine. Try the fiber, try incorporating some kinds of beans or something that naturally has high fiber. When it gets bad take a dulcolax or something like that.
Good luck0 -
Try adding a multi-strain probiotic to your supplements. It's still not as often as pre-op, but that has handled the issue for me without having to go the laxative route.0

Thanks guys. I will try both ideas. Appreciate your responses.0

Weight management fiber gummies, tons of celery, tons of water, fiber one protein bars, 20 oz of coffee daily and still only poo every 3 days0

haha I guess our bodies use the little that we put into it now. It does make sense but also reminds me how much I must have overeaten in the past to go every day.0
