Any BTDT moms gain a lot in the 1st tri, then slow in 2nd?

I gained quite a bit in the 1st 13 weeks- almost 20 pounds. I felt totally out of control and wanted carbs all the time to help with nausea.
Now, the last 2 weeks I've lost 5 pounds. I have been eating less, but definitely not starving. I'm able to track again because I'm not so darn tired (I didn't care when I was exhausted). So do you think it's possible to turn around an initially big gain while pregnant? How long do you think it's safe to maintain or even lose a little before gaining again? I honestly would like to maintain for as long as possible.

I gained the majority of my weight (40 pounds-gulp) during the second trimester. Now that I'm well into my 3rd trimester I think I've gained less than 5 pounds. It definitely slowed way down for me, thank goodness!0

Don't try losing weight. Controlling the gain is one thing, but you shouldn't be trying to lose.
I only lost weight in the first trimester (super ill with morning sickness), gained it all back and then some in the second trimester. The third trimester has been a steady 1lb a week gaining.
Everyone is different but the important thing is taking care of you and taking care of baby - worry about the weight later.0
