My new shoes came in the mail! Regardless of your choice of footwear, I know that you call can appreciate that feeling. Anyway, no review as I've even worn them yet. I will be hitting the trails in the morning for a 9 mile run to check them out! I also bought some CEP compression calf sleeves and I look forward to checking them out as well.

I went on my first run today in them. 9 miles on the trails. Love them! It's obviously too early to come to any conclusions, but at least there was nothing negative and they felt really good. I won't know for sure if losing weight and going to the maximalist shoe will work for me until my next 50K race in September. I still have a long hot summer of training ahead of me!0

Ha! I have a pair of road Hokas and a pair of trail Hokas (both were gifts; never thought I'd try these!). I haven't tried the trail ones yet, but have about 100 miles or so on the road ones. They feel a little odd to me. But, when I was training for the 50 miler, I'd wear them for my second long run (Sundays, on roads). They did seem to help with a sad, tired body0 -
Well yesterday I finally got a chance to test them out on the road. The difference was more striking that ever when on an unforgiving surface like concrete. I could really feel the plushness of the ride. Also I noticed that I seemed more refreshed and recovered from my long run the day before. That's a possible benefit as well.0

Awesome. My running partner swears by them. He's worn them as long as I've run with him and he logged 3,000 miles last year!0

That's some serious mileage! Oh, also a bonus: I've heard people get a lot better mileage out of the Hoka's. I normally am ready to trash my shoes by the time I hit 400 miles on them. I hope that I can get 700 to 800 out of them. That would help make them more affordable.0

Thanks for the report on these. I've been considering getting some when it gets closer to the fall. Got my first ultra at the end of the year and will probably do more in the future.0

Hokas are the best. Shoes. Ever. They got me through 6 50k runs, 2 50 milers and a 24h trail race (75 miles) over the last 11 months. The 24h was last weekend and I was out again running today. I'm a huge fan of the Stinsons, but didn't like the feel of the mafates- they feel sloppy and a little stiff to me. Hokas aren't as extreme as they look. Check this out:

How many miles are you getting out of yours? I'm still loving mine! Oh, I just ordered the Bondi 3's for my non-runner wife whose feet are always hurting. She's not crazy about the look, but she agreed to try to the superior cushioning.0 -
I am just about to retire my first pair. I rotate through several- two sizes of Stinson trail and two of the Stinson Tarmac (plus an additional one that I put screws into for winter running.) I haven't ever tracked mileage per pair, but they seem to last for a very long time.0
