Compression sleeves and Compression socks

I'm looking for some insight in compression socks and compression sleeves and how they have helped you.
I did buy compression sleeves but turned out to be wrong size and have never wore them ...
Any specific brand to look forward to and where can I buy them at good price?
How do these perform in rains especially compression socks? Do they get slippery and or may cause blisters if I would run long miles in rain?
Please keep me posted on your thoughts. And as always thanks so much for the wonderful response.

Last year I bought a pair of CEP compression sleeves for my calves during marathon training. I wasn't convinced they'd make a significant difference before trying them, but now I love them for my really long runs. They definitely helped with recovery and while I'm not a fan of the tan lines (runner vanity here), my muscles felt better and my legs stayed much warmer than without them. I think they were definitely worth the price. I paid about $28 for them on amazon and I think they were just slightly more at my local running store.
I've never tried them in the rain, so I don't have any feedback for you on that aspect.
Happy running to you!0 -
i have a pair of salomon sleeves. you can see them in my profile pic. i don't know if they help or not to be honest. maybe it's all in my head, but they definitely keep my shins from getting beat up when bushwhacking through the brush of some trails. (ya i know that's not at all what they're designed for)
in the end i think they 'feel' like they help and i'd buy another pair.0 -
I have a pair of the CEP compression sleeves that I wear for recovery after long runs. I usually don't wear during my runs, but after. They seem to work well for me.0

I use them to mitigate my poison oak exposure.0

Tan lines, no dice. Maybe at night0

HaHa - I wear them on all trail runs because the poison ivy around here grows like crazy and lines the trails.
For long runs I have found the sleeves helpful for my calves. They feel better the next day. My favorites are 2XU sleeves but I also have some CEP full socks that are pretty good. I started out with Zensah but those didn't hold up at all.0 -
I recently bought a pair of CEP calf sleeves. The plan is to only wear them on long runs. I wore them for my long run last week. It's hard to say if I noticed anything during the run, and I was tired that day like normal after a long run, but I seemed to bounce back with a great run on Sunday morning. So perhaps it helped recovery? But it's hard to say as I wore Hoka's for the first time AND I put on compression gear after I ran as well. So it may be a combination of all of the above.0

I personally find arm sleeves to be pointless. However, my wife loves them because they help keep you a little warmer for the cold races and also aid in preventing chaffing. I do however love compression socks and ankle sleeves. I used my ankle sleeves for my marathon training and my marathon, and they worked out really well. I have done lots of trial-and-error with compression stuff over the past year and a half and I find that compression socks help me the most when I am running short distances (10k or less) and trying to go at a fast pace. They have prevented me from getting after race leg cramps that I would get regardless of stretching or fueling or diet. I do not like them on long runs because as my feet swell, the sock becomes strangling on my feet. However, for long distances I love the calf sleeves because I get the same benefit without the feet issues.0

I use CEP compression socks and love them. I believe I recover much faster than when I don't wear them and they do seem to stop the after run cramping that I have experienced in the past. I am also a fan of the Feeture's ankle sleeve but primarily wear this because of a tendon issue.0

I like the concept of compression socks, but I think that I would only use them for recovery as I'm too in love with my Drymax socks! So calf sleeves for me when running. Compression socks (if I had any - they only now exist on my Amazon wish list) for recovery.0 -
I have definitely felt the benefit of the compression socks in my long runs. I was skeptical about arm sleeves, but I decided to do a week of trying them on odd days and leaving them off on even. I definitely felt the benefit in my arms during speed and hilly training, so that's when I wear them now!0

I have two pair of compression sleeves (1 Zensah and 1 2XU)... I like them and could only wear sleeves before because I ran primarily in five fingers.
They definitely helped some.
I recently switched to Skora shoes, so socks/compression socks came back into play and I got a pair of CEP compression socks.
They are GREAT... so much better than the Zensah or 2XU sleeves.
They help during and after the long runs - both with calves/shins AND with with my arch/heel.
Definitely recommend the CEP socks - they are NOT cheap at nearly $60 per pair, but so worth it.0 -
bump for reading later.. I am very curious on this as well!!0

I used to wear the CEP socks but have switched to the CEP sleeves. The socks get funny in the foot after washing, and I also like being able to wear different socks (and changing socks when needed during a race.) I find this to be too much of a challenge with the compression socks, but super easy with the sleeves, since I can swap put the sock and leave the sleeve on.0
