I don't work, my job is to clean the house, tend to my 4 month old daughter Lucy, and take care of our animals. I thought being at home would make it easier to lose weight. I was so wrong. Sitting at home all day takes my motivation to work out down to basically zero. I have an elliptical in my bedroom, right in view of the TV and it's a 5 minute walk to some very scenic bike trails from my front yard, but I still fall of the wagon on a regular basis. Losing weight and staying consistent has always been a problem for me. It feels a little different now because I like my post pregnancy body even less than I liked my pre pregnancy body. My husband says he loves it and that I don't need to change, but I feel like I want to. I want to show my daughter that health and fitness is important.

I had my daughter in January 2013. Prior to my pregnancy, I had successfully lost 65 pounds, but then gained it all back during the pregnancy. I did not have the courage to weigh myself until my 6 week postpartem visit (they made me do it!) I had lost only 30 pounds. I had quit my job to be a stay at home mom, but needed some ME time after taking care of the baby, animals, household duties, etc during the day until my husband got home. I started working at an all women's gym in the office, only 6 hours per week, and started exercising there. I have always been into group exercise classes, but had never taken a cycling class. Once class and I was hooked! To make a long story short, I earned my Spinning certification and now teach cycle classes at 5:30am before the hubby is off to work!I am now down those 30 pounds and still going! I too feel that I have a responsibility to teach my daughter that health and fitness is important, and dont want her to one day ask me "Mommy, why are you so squishy/fat/jiggly" You can definetly do it! There are also plenty of exercise videos that you can do during naptime with your earbuds in, if music gets you going. Just know that YOU CAN!!!! and YOU WILL!!!! Don't sit at home all day, get a jogging stroller, get out and moving, once you start, you wont want to stop:)0

This sounds exactly like me! I have a 4 month old son who is a pretty laid back little guy and so far has been pretty easy so I admittedly spend a lot of time watching crappy day time TV . I have a rowing machine in front of the telly, sometimes I get on it then after 3 mins get bored what I have found is just getting out the house and going for a walk is really good. I try and walk a couple of miles every morning before anything else that way if the rest of the day is slightly less active I don't feel so guilty about it, plus little man loves going out in the buggy. I think the main thing is routine, if you can get into a routine of doing something everyday even if it is just a short walk then that's gotta be a benefit right? So far I am back to the weight I was when I found out I was pregnant ( about 15lbs lost) just from walking and not eating so much rubbish. However this is really just the beginning as I have over 100+ lbs to lose. Good luck with it just take it 1 day at a time0

I also lost about 50 pounds before I got pregnant! I didn't even gain barely anything until my third trimester. I was working at a grocery store as a stocker and they are very busy, so there's lots of running around, and bending over, etc. By the third trimester I was so tired, and my daughter was always curling right up into my ribs, so I switched to cashier, and they get swivel chairs instead of standing. And I went over a week past my due date, and that was a 10 pound gain week. I borrow my SIL's stroller, and we've agreed to start walking in the evening. Now my husband is complaining about his "gut" (which isn't big at all! and it's the only place he gains weight) so he is walking with us as well. I'm glad to know that other stay at home moms were dealing with the same thing. I know that my cousin has a son around 6 months older than my baby, and she has a gym membership, does classes, and she's a big inspiration0

I work weekends, but I still consider myself a stay at home mama considering I stay at home with my son 5 days out of the week. I was 113 pounds when i found out I was pregnant and go figure in the ebst shape of my life and gained 70 something pounds during my pregnancy "/
My start weight was 171 and im down almost 10 so far still have 46 left to go though. Glad I found a mommy group!
And I am officially overweight now. NOT OBESE! That was my first goal and I've made it this far. Excited to keep going.0
