I should get me surgery date in June. i doubt the actual surgery will happen until July or August, but I'm not sure how quickly they want to move.

I'm scheduled for June 24th. 3 weeks from today!!!!
  • I had mine on May 29th. I had to do the 2 week diet. 5 days of 1000 calorie, 4 days of 800 calories, 2 days full liquid and then 1 day clear liquid. I lost 17 lbs prior to surgery on that diet. My concern is that I have not had a bowel movement since surgery though. I am taking Miralax every day per my dr's instructions. I am still a little sore at the extraction point, but not much soreness at all anywhere else. Feeling GREAT overall!

I had my Surgery June 2. Overnight in t hospital and home. Mostly doing well. Sore, but not painful. I find myself with lower energy than I would like to see,but my surgeon has us on clear liquids for the week following surgery, so not much opportunity for calories.

    Hello Ithoma01,

Sounds like you're doing great. In no time your energy level will go up and you'll have the energy that you want it to be at. The week that you're on clear liquids go by in no time. I wish you the very best on your journey.

Congratulations to the newbies who are now booked to be sleeved this month as well as to the others who have also had June surgeries. I have a few more months to wait but I sure am learning a lot on this forum with the wealth of experiences shared. I learn something from everyone.

I'm getting my sleeve June 26th! My liquid diet starts the 19th and I'm kind of nervous. Hoping to find some support of someone going through the process as the same time as me. I have a feeling the liquid diet is going to break me!

My liquid diet (Diabetic Boost) will be for two weeks before my surgery in September or October. I guess weaning off of caffeine is also part of the deal before surgery. I am going to take the advice given to me by a member on here and start to mix regular and decaf so the withdrawal isn't too severe.
I'm so looking forward to the gift of the surgery that putting up with the liquid diet for 2 weeks and getting off of caffeine will be a small price to pay.

    Hi Everyone,

I had my sleeve on June 3rd and I am so thankful for this amazing tool! I still struggle with emotional hunger and food cravings every day but it is awesome to know that physically, that is no longer an option. I am taking it one minute at a time! Looking forward to getting to know others that have had this procedure.

    Aubrey

P.S. I have lost 22 lbs since my surgery date! I blew the pre op diet badly so no weight loss happened there!
  • Just had mine June 12th! Really struggling to get in my protein! Love having fellow sleevers to talk to about the struggles and triumphs!

    Hello,

I am having the same issue. I am averaging 45-50 gm per day which I know is not enough. I am still trying to find a protein supplement that doesn't make me nauseous. I am told that this will settle down as time passes.
