Averaging out calories/protein

As I keep getting surprised at my inconsistency is averaging out my calories and protein during the day, as of tomorrow I'm going to start planning each meal/snack accordingly.
My goal is to have around the same amount of protein/calories for meals and a lesser amount for snacks. NOW, ALL I HAVE TO DO IS STICK TO IT.
It will be so much easier when I began my new Nanny position nest Tuesday, as I'll have to take my lunch, afternoon snack and maybe once in a while my dinner with me. I'll also be getting more exercise, 4 month old baby I can take for walks, 2 huge, affectionate dogs (one huskie/shepard mix and one black lab) and I mean 90+ pounds for the huskie that I can play with outside.

Karen, I don't know how you log, but I plan my food for the day in the morning (Mon-Fri) and log it here (breakfast, lunch, coffee and water). I add dinner when I get home and see what the husband cooked, but since I typically have more than enough calories left, whatever he makes is rarely an issue. Before I started logging in the morning I would find myself over calories and/or under protein for the day most of the time. But once I started logging first thing in the morning I've found it's just so much easier to stay on track daily.
And if you watch my food logs on the weekend, you can see how random they are, because I'm not as disclipined at eating and logging on the weekends. I'm rarely over calories for the day on Saturday and Sunday, in fact I am usually really low because I forget to eat! :laugh:0 -
I am like pawoodhull, I plan out my food for the day in the morning, if not the evening before. Gives me the big picture and lets me know where I stand calorie wise and protein wise so I can adjust as necessary. I am a little less disciplined on the weekend as well, but by habit I tend to stay under calories and on track with protein. I think a little planning goes a long way!0

Thanks, ladies. I've been logging as I go and I think planning meals/snacks for the whole day is also the way to go for me. I'll be able to see the whole day at a glance - at least most of it. I started logging all food today first thing this a.m. with the exception of dinner and/or snack. This should help me better balance out my meals and spread out my protein intake for the day so I don't have so much protein in the evening. I don't have a problem keeping at or under calorie goal and meeting my protein requirement, but feel this should help with consistency in keeping my metabolism going better throughout the day
Both of you have a nice week. Again thanks for the advice.
