Hi! I'm 51 and in perimenopause. I can't seem to lose any real amount of weight for anything:sad: Right now I'm stuck around the 200 range(it fluctuates from 203-197) I'm really frustrated. I started 39 DS a couple of weeks ago, got down to 198 then I was right back up to 201...

stick to MFP and count your calories and log your exercise. it's a real eye opener. you WILL lose

Is anyone here trying heavy lifting? I'm trying it, so far 'ok' - I go back and forth about the safety for my back but I want to keep going with it. I can't lift as heavy as younger women, clearly - but I'm not sure if it's my age or the fact that I didn't ever build muscles so I am catching up.
I lift, but not "heavy". it takes time to tone your muscles - lots of time. and eat lean and clean and you will see a difference. start out with lighter weights and work your way up - over time. be patient :)

I've recently returned to MFP so I can drop this weight again. I had lost 80lbs just 3 years ago. I've been sick with inner ear / sinus issues for 18months and slowly gained back the weight. I need to get past feeling sorry for myself and do something about it. It was a great journey and I'm looking forward to getting back into those jeans that are in the back of my closet!

Thanks for starting this group - I'm joining you because I see there is constant activity here. That's what I need!

I'm 49 - menopausal - with 2 teenage daughters and a saint for a husband:heart: We live in Maine - enjoy outdoor activities and spending time at camp.

Ready to take this one day at a time. Add me as a friend if you'd like - the more support the better!!
