Looking for Stronglift inspiration

okay so I don't NEED inspiration because the program in itself is so simple I am very excited to start Saturday. I have been reading New Rules of Lifting for Women and someone on this site suggested Stronglifts 5x5. I am totally going for it. I did something similar a few years back and even though I didn't get down to my original goal weight, I stopped caring what the scale said ebcause I looked and felt great! My muscles were heavy so that's why. Anyway I'm looking for friends int he Stronglifts community so I can get some advice when needed and just to watch others progress along. So anyone looking for Stronglifts buddy or anyone who likes to give advice from their own successful position, feel free to add me. Thanks!

Welcome! I just finished my first week. I wasn't able to start at the recommended weights as I'm a 150(ish) pound weakling, but I'm already progressing. Good luck!

I've been doing it (with a couple breaks) since August. Squats do a body good! Always nice to have new women working their way into the free weight sections!

    Amen to that!

I find blasting Joan Jett/Bad Reputation on my ipod helps make that transition in to the "boy's" section easy. :-)

Thank you everyone, for your kind replies. I wish this forum gave notifications when someone replies to a post. I am super excited. I lifted Saturday the 17th of May and it's now Monday night and I am still sore but in a good way. I am skipping my leg workout tomorrow and just focusing on the overhead press and arm and back stuff. I underestimated the 50 pound squats I did. I did all 5 sets of 5 so I felt like jell-o afterwards. I started with 100 lb deadlifts but I used to do 175 and even though I have gained weight I have kept some of my strength so I did that very easily. I am feeling sore but awesome!

Sounds like you're off to a great start! I'll send you a FR. I've been lifting for about 1.5 years. I started with Stronglifts, now doing Wendler's 5/3/1 but about to transition to something new. I'm no expert but I love to encourage lifting buddies!
