Marking Your Success

I know this topic has been covered ad naseum on the MFP message boards, but I think it can be particularly meaningful for those of us with high numbers to lose. Are you going to do something special when you reach your goal weight? I have a tattoo planned. It will be a quote by Oscar Wilde. "If you are not too long, I will wait here for you all my life" Around it will be a picture of me as a little girl and me now holding hands and the date that I reach goal weight.

    Well I actually have 2.

#1 - I should fit in my wedding dress when I'm all done and I want to renew our vows. I weighed 160 when we got married, went up to 386 through the years and 160 is my goal weight. We are coming up on 40 years this summer and I won't be to goal yet, but I will be way before our 45th. That's when I want to renew our vows and wear my dress again.

Now, my husband suffers from clinical depression and although he is a great guy and stood by me through thick and thin (yes literally!), his depression causes him to avoid most social situations, so he's not keen on this idea, so as a backup . . .

#2 - I want to have all the excess skin removed. I know my tummy tuck is a given and paid for by the insurance. But the upper arms, thighs, butt lift and such is all on our dime. So should I not get #1, I will be happy with #2.
