Hi-- I created this group to find individuals who were interested in "clean eating" as a lifestyle. I have a husband and two little girls, and we are trying to make the transition as a family! I am interested in finding some awesome recipes, and tips on making the transition smoother! Also, I am always looking for more friends, so feel free to add me!

Perfect timing! I have been looking for a group like this. I have done well with weight loss, exercise, and keeping the calorie count low. But, I really want to get more into the overall healthy eating - even if it means (gasp!) I need to eat a few more calories to get away from the frozen (although low calorie) dinners. I have just started trying to stick with foods that have 5 ingredients or less and only ingredients I can pronounce and know what the heck they are.
I have a few books on hold at the library about clean eating. Right now, I am reading Pandora's Lunchbox, which is interesting.
Simple recipes are great for me. I'm not crazy about cooking or weirdo ingredients that makes my shopping trip a hunting adventure that takes 90 minutes.
Thanks for starting this group!0 -
Having just committed to no dairy due to an allergy to "milk protein" - (which is not the same as lactose intolerant - so no magic pill to my dismay), I am having to eat cleaner than ever. Most prepackaged foods use whey or some type of milk protein. It also means no ice cream, no chocolate, no cheese - so no pizza. In the long run, this won't be bad.....just getting my mind around it for the time being. My lunches consist mainly of purchasing a cooked half Turkey Breast (real turkey not lunch meat) from the deli. I divide it up into 3 oz portions and add veggies to it. It may get boring so I try to add different veggies.
Last week I took a can of albacore tuna and mixed it with hummus. Was very good.0
