Whilst weight training well and a new life of fitness. Can you have an off day where you drink alcohol or is that not recommended?

    life is for living.

Just like you can't cut out all your fav foods coz you'll binge, you should still do the things you like.

For me, it interferes with my recovery process, but I still have the odd blow out. i keep within the government guidelines.

Now and again I'll drink wine at home with dinner, but it's a habit that tends to set in quite quickly.

I tend to use it on holidays and special occasions now. I always count the calories too.

I normally can't be bothered with drinking so I save it for holidays and special occasions as well. If you enjoy a drink then have a drink and factor it in to your calories. Binging every night is obviously going to affect your recovery but the odd glass of wine or beer here and there isn't.

But do remember that when alcohol is in the system your body struggled to metabolise fat stores so it can stall fat loss

Thanks both for your replies. Yeah it is difficult for me at the moment as I have moved to Australia for a year traveling so do tend to drink almost every sat but I am going to try to cut down and change my drink.

I usually have a couple of beers a week, no big deal. I love craft beer

I drink wine a few times a week, sometimes whiskey on weekends and have some cocktails or whatnot once or twice a month. No problems at all as long as I log everything and keep a general eye out toward macros.

I drank over the past weekend, on Friday and Saturday night, but I don't think I suffered from it. Mostly white wine, a little vodka on Saturday.

Those were the 3rd and 4th time I drank since I started logging in January. The other 2 were out to dinner, one of those dinners was my anniversary.

I think it is fine to kick back and enjoy sometimes, just log it.

I have 1-2 (usually 2) vodka and lemonades a night. Still making progress. I just make sure it fits in my calorie goals.

ETA: I did change what I drank though. I use to be a red wine drinker, but changed to a lower calorie combo listed above. It works for me!

Me too! Unfortunately the beers I love are usually 300-500 calories each, so I'll only drink one or two a couple of times a month. Usually when my husband and I go to our favorite local brewery I'll just get one little flight glass.
