This is a pretty damning article from a view of America from the outside. I found it terrifyingly spot on.

As someone who lives it... all I need to read is the title and know what it's going to say...
But hey, how else are the elite going to control the populations? Can't do it when they can think for themselves...0 -

Read the article. It is not just education, which is a mess, but it is also our habits of news consumption etc.0 -
I did read it a few days ago when an old prof posted it on facebook...0

Ah, apologies then. I did not get that from your last comment.0 -

It's ok. But yes, it does help that how people search for news stories also makes a difference on what people are going to read and thus absorb... for example, the vaccination debates.... if you type in something along the lines of "side effects of vaccines" you are more likely to get mommy bloggers than you would if you used the word innoculations or immunizations.0 -
The s[/url]hit smeared searches absolutely piss me off. MFP's "war on cows milk" for example is absolutely fucking ridiculous.
I can't even find a scientific article that suggests milk causes osteoporosis or is "bad" for someone who is non allergic or not lactose intolerant.
If it's not liked for moral reason, I can accept that. But pulling shit out of thin air because you are morally opposed to it and then muddying the water for idiots to misuse that pseudoscience?0 -

But don't you know? Those studies were paid for by the Big food companies... they don't want you to know that it's bad for you so you keep drinking it... *lol*
I have all but stopped drinking milk, not really on purpose and my vitamin D levels have dropped (even if and when I eat varied foods)... Looks like I better bring back that glass o' milk a day because my amount of time in the sun ain't cutting it.0
