Hello,
I am Michelle and am new to MFP. I joined this group because I am looking for people to talk to that can actually relate to where I am in this journey to a healthier lifestyle.
I started an account because my dad's diabetes educator recommended it as a way to track his carbs. I just started playing with it and am still learning how to navigate. I also linked it to an app called MapmyWalk to help track my activity. I was pleasantly surprised to learn than mowing my lawn give me nearly 3 miles of walking. My husband was always doing it and I always seemed to be stuck in the house doing something else. I have unofficially taken over so I can get more activity in my week. I love bike riding but really don't have a biking partner right now. I may join a local bike club to help find someone closer to my fitness level which isn't so high right now, but I would be lying if I didn't admit that I am a little apprehensive about doing that. My husband and I used to ride 30-40 miles but that was prechildren, a number of other issues and sleep deprevation (found out I have sleep apnea). Now that things have had time to heal and a cpap machine I am feeling so much better. Unfortunately, I just can't keep up with my husband's pace yet.
I am really looking for a good support system that can help boost my weight loss and activity. There are just some days that I need someone else to give me kind word and extra inspiration.
Thanks for reading. I am really looking forward to meeting you...:flowerforyou:
