I loved how my Physician's Assistant said to my hubby, "Hide the scale when you get home!! She will get right on, find out that she's gained weight from the surgery and then not drink what she is supposed to!"

Damn, not fair how they know what we *think*... LOL

Needless to say, I haven't even LOOKED for the scale!

I got on too! I gained 7 lbs from surgery and the IV fluids. I didn't freak cuz I knew what it was from but I was still disappointed. My hand that had the IV looked like one of Mickey Mouse's gloves lol. I lost it fast though so everything was alright.

I just thought it was funny how compulsive we really are about getting on the scale. Why do we get on when we know we will be up, and not for food reasons? I forced myself to wait until today- 5 days out. I was down 4 pounds or so, and I'm considering that a huge gift, considering my insides are still in shock!!! LOL.

    Keep on truckin'!!!!

We all had/have learned the wrong habits for the wrong reasons. Moving through the WLS stages gives us the opportunity to learn new habits and build on success.

I didn't. Waited until my first post op appointment and I'm so glad I did! Even today, I weigh no more than once per week.

For the first six months or so I only weighed myself when I saw my doctor. Being that the first 6 months I saw him fairly regularly, it didn't bother me. Now I weigh myself every two weeks at home. If I weigh myself any more frequently, I will get too scale obsessed!
