Just wanted to share a bit of information you may find useful if you work shift work.
I am a professional firefighter and work 24 hour shifts. I use the UP Band by Jawbone to track both sleep and steps taken each day and have it connected with the myfitnesspal app. I found that if I set the UP Band to sleep mode prior to midnight and then have to get up for a call, causing the band to go back into day mode, any sleep tracked will be given credit to the night before.
What I do to avoid this is to leave the band in day mode when at work and take note of when I went to bed. The next morning after syncing the band with my UP app for iPhone I manually add the sleep in. This way all sleep, even though interrupted by rescue calls, is added to the current night.
Just sharing.
Take care.
