Well I decided not to start Couch to 5k today. I was still fairly sore and tired from yesterday and the emotional energy to get myself ready just wasn't their.
I did decide to go for another bike ride and was curly reminded of how fat and out of shape I truly am. I barley made it a mile before I had to stop for the first time. I stopped about 4 more times in the 2.5 miles I rode. It's also the first time my asthma decided to rear it's ugly head. By the end of the ride (I only lasted 18.5 Min) it felt like I had left my lungs behind halfway through the course and my legs were gone. I wont let this stop me but it certainly does put a damper on my enthusiasm and makes me question running and wether my asthma will be an issue their as well.0 -

You are just starting! 2.5 miles is amazing when you haven't rode in a long time. When I first started my bike at home, I couldn't do 5 mins. Within a month, I was doing 30 mins non-stop. You can't just on and expect to be Lance Armstrong out of the gate. However, you will be amazed how quick your body conditions itself. Just like you did with walking.
And YES, asthma does suck. I had an attack last night just trying to go to sleep. Still fighting it a bit right now. Just because I am fighting off a chest cold. I too think I may never be a runner, but I have severe asthma and DDD's.0
