Hello!
How is everyone doing? I had a pretty good weekend. Ran a 10K on Saturday and it was the first race (actually running!) I have done since March. I did great. Didn't have any problems with my knee during or after the race (yea!) and kept a pretty good pace throughout the race. Felt good to be back to actually running and not having to walk a race! LOL
As for my eating.... having major issues with keeping it under control. I have been eating out of control for about 5 days. No idea why, just keep eating. And eating stuff I don't usually eat, in amounts that shouldn't be eating (and not tracking, which is very unusual for me!). Trying to get back on track today and keeping positive thoughts. So here's hoping today will be a better day!
Hope you are all doing well and having a great day!

I had a great weekend. I went on a 5 mile hike that I have not done since I started gaining weight. The eating could have been better but I have cut out the extra calories the last two days and should see a loss this week.0

MG - did you run in the Governors Cup? I think that was this last weekend. For me the trick to getting back on track was to log everything, no matter how bad, which made me more aware. I would couple that with only buying stuff that I could stuff my face with if I wanted and really it did not amount to much. Everyone for binging on Celery!!
The wheels came off the bus this weekend when we went to a wedding (been over 15 years I think since the last one). I felt horribly sick after eating all that Carrot Cake.. Honestly, I had good intentions!! So fixed up the bus and back on the road. Still a pound up from last week when we got back, but not worried at all.0 -
Doing much better today... with everything... tracking, eating and getting my steps in. Finally feel like I'm back in control and not the food.
Howie - Good job on the hike. And CONGRATS on the weight loss last week, too! You are such an inspiration!
Markd - Yep, I did the 10K at the Governor's Cup. Was pretty chilly before the race with the wind and such, but not too bad by the time we finished. Did you guys get some white stuff at your place this morning? I know there was some snow on McDonald Pass... crazy weather but we do need the rain (just wish it wasn't cold too!).
And carrot cake? Yummy! My last binge (before this past week) was with carrot cake. So I'm over that craving for awhile!0 -
No snow as the storm seems to have gone mostly south of us. We did the Governors Cup for a number of years, and each year it would snow during the race. I think the last one we did was at least 10 years ago. We did talk about doing it again, my wife wanted to do the marathon; then they moved that race to Billings so she decided not to do it.0

Montana girl, Congratulations on doing the 10K
Mark, I hope your car situation gets better.
Howie, yay for the weight loss AND the 5 mile hike!
I did ok, weight stayed the same, couldn't go to my Muay Thai due to my hand but still had to set up my vegetable garden. LOTS of dirt shoveling. Since my right hand is in a splint I worked out my left side a lot lol.
Food wise... I slipped a little and had wine and a little fruits mid week ,but I was in Ketosis on Sunday so I went ahead and did the carb nite. So I'll see if I lose any week this Sunday.0 -
It feels like it has been raining for days and days.. the dogs are antsy and so am I to get out and do some hiking/walking. All the roads and trails are nothing but MUD! This morning it is blowing pretty hard and it appears that the storms are moving out, so maybe a walk might happen tomorrow..
heronh, hand injuries just plain suck!!0 -
Uhggg! I don't think I could take Montana, you all are talking snow in June! LOL That is just freaking unacceptable. I am getting old enough now I even think of going west or south for the winters we have here and they are no where near what you all have.0

Howie - the trade off for crappy Montana weather is the wonderful scenery! It's beautiful here... and though I am sick of the rain/overcast/cool weather, it will all be worth it when we finally get out hiking, camping, fishing and backpacking. Plus, next week I'll be complaining about how hot is! LOL
Herohn - Sorry about your hand, but sounds like your getting a lot done!
Markd - It looks like this storm may finally be leaving... or maybe I'm just being hopeful! Though I do see some sunny days in the forecast for this weekend and next week.
Weighed in this morning at Weight Watchers and I was down 2.4 pounds. Not bad for having 5 days of non-stop eating. Guess having healthy (clean/Paleo) foods in the house and not junk, helped with that. Just need to lose another 1.2 to get back to where I was prior to the TN trip. Of course, getting back to my walking and running has helped too. Feels good to be back in control again. Just hope it sticks!0 -
For me the crappy Montana weather is the 6 weeks of 80+ degree days (still gets to 40's at night). My whole family hibernates as much as possible during this part. Not just from the heat, but the bugs as well. Howie, some years it will rain almost every day in June (or snow), but it dries up really fast on this side of the Divide. It is all the mud I don't like. Pretty soon it will be back to the 30 below zero weather (frequent comment here: Winter is coming) and I can go back to my backcountry camping trips on skis..
There is a big transient culture here. They want to live the life in Montana.. and then after 2 or 3 years of Winter, they are done and gone. I have seen it happen for decades.
Congrats on the eating and weight loss there MG.0 -
I will keep Ohio for now. LOL Maybe later in life I can winter in Arizona.
I maintained this week, not sure why as I stuck to my plan and exercised every day but Sunday. It happens though and that just means next week will probably be a good loss.0 -
Montana Girl, Yay for your weight loss.
I can see how people would want to live in Montana because of its beauty but just can't deal with winters. I hear stories of harsh winters from people all over.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where the winters are mild and no rain in what I consider mild summer. Beautiful parks, beaches and redwood forest. But the gun laws SUCKS and the cost of living is high. But someday we will move....0
