Hello Nor Cal, How goes it?

I'd love to hear from folks in Nor Cal which gyms they have memberships with, what they like or don't like about them.

Are you a Club Sport? Club One 24 Hour Fitness? Crunch? Planet Fitness? Fitness 19? Golds?

Of if you're a specialist , Planet Granite? Yoga?

Or do you belong to the cult of Cross-Fit and Boot Camps? Which groups/instructors have you tried?

I love the topic name! LOL...

I got to In-Shape since I live in Brentwood and I have the all-club membership. It gives me the flexibility to go to the Emeryville club if I'm going to stick around Downtown Oakland (where I work), or Pittsburg (to avoid Highway 4 traffic for an hour or so). I would love to go to Club One since it's right across the street from work, but their membership prices are too high to justify me only going once or twice a week if I need to work late.

I'd tried all the clubs in the Bay Area. Tried Bally's. Tried 24. Tried fitness 19, Club One, Renaissance Club Sport, you name it. The only gym that kept my business has been the UFC Gym in Concord, I've been happy there since 2010. When they say they Train Different, it's true, I've lost 30lbs since joining and am happier than I've ever been at a gym.

Fitness 19 is a good budget gym, although I'm no longer a member there. Much prefer the home gym for workouts.
