Hello everyone
I started on MFP this time last year and managed about 7lbs off in the first few weeks. Then I lost motivation (thank you monthly cycle) and couldn't get back into it. I subsequently spent the next 12 months gaining another stone to make me the heaviest I've ever been - well, NO MORE!!!
I've been back 2 weeks or so and it's starting to come off again but blimey, my little forum-widget thing still shows no weight loss (it's set at last years start weight of course) but I'm hoping to crack that nut by next week
Have you had a false start before? Or two? How have you got on since? I don't feel like I'm going to quit this time but I'm waiting for those wretched hormones to kick in soon. I guess the idea is to just get back on the horse straight after? Anyone else find they have a tough time eating sensibly for that week or so?
Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. I've actually lost 72 pounds, then gained and lost the same 30 pounds back and forth for the last couple years. When I am on MFP regularly, I do well. When I am not, I don't do as well after a day or two. I am at my heaviest point since I lost the 72 pounds. My pants don't fit well but I refuse to buy new ones. Instead I am back here on MFP. My goal is weight loss, but I am more concerned about healthy eating since that is my issue.
I'll send you a friend request so we can support each other. Sounds like we have some things in common.0 -
I lost 30 pounds last year and gained 10 back this winter.
That is better than the 20 pounds I gained between ages 20 to 30 and then lost when I was 30 years old and then gained back between ages 30 to 40. I am hoping to keep it in a 5 pound maintenance window from 41 to 50
I guess that makes this my 4th start!0 -
I cant say I have been there. This is first time I really thinking the thought of loosing.
Still I think the way to do is with with thinking life change not diet.
The changes you make when comes to food and exercise are something you shall keep doing still after getting to your goal.
Make changes in your diet that you can live with and like. Changes that your family can join into with out thinking you taking them with you on a diet. And give yourself permission to have a day now and then that is not that healty.
Same goes for exercise, do things you acutally like to do then it not going to be that hard to get up and move the body.0 -
I am there with you. I am on my second go around again. Joined last year, was dedicated, focused and lost 20 lbs. Then I put the app down, logged out and went on with life. Bad plan! I am back again with even more weight than before. I need discipline, friends, a regimen to keep me focused. I figured that out and today is my first day back. Even though I forgot breakfast, I am on my way.
So you are definitely not alone. Chin up, we will all do this together:)0
