Garmin Forerunner 220

Hi all! Has anyone picked up a Garmin Forerunner 220 in the last few months since they came out?

I'm thinking of replacing my FR 405 with one of these beauties. My 405 likes to beep a lot, almost incessantly, when sweat (or rain, or much of anything really...) gets on the touch-bezel, which is unimaginably annoying during a long, hot summer runs. I've also had issues with my 405 getting slow (saying I've gone maybe 3.9 miles when I've run my typical 4 mile route), and this is a huge problem on long runs. I want my watch to be as accurate and reliable as possible when I'm out running for 2 or 3 hours!

So, before I put in my order on Amazon... any opinions on the 220? If you have one: is it reliable? How do you like it?

I picked up for mother's day. So far I am really liking it. The best feature is the buzz instead of the beep. I really like it because I run intervals. I no longer feel like I am annoying everyone around me with my beeping.

I have one and love it! My previous Garmin was a 305 so this one is leaps and bounds better. I love being able to look at all of the data on my computer or my phone. I've had it for about three months, so not a huge amount of time, but I haven't had any problems with it.

Hi. I have one and love it. I can easily see the face while I am running and it gives me great information when I upload it to garmin connect. This is my first garmin since I am a new runner but I would, and have, recommended it to others.

I got the Forerunner 220 to replace my old 210. It's a great running watch and is easy to program and set-up. I use it on the daily and love it. The only issues I sometimes have, and this applies to the old Garmin as well, is when I leave an area (like a city or state or region), and try to reconnect to the GPS, sometimes it gets wonky and I have to reset the watch entirely. Other than that it's been great.

However, my last garmin ran beautifully for about 2 years and then one day decided to go A-wall. I'm really glad that I bought the watch at REI since I could take it back for a replacement (which I had to do, twice). This one has been quite reliable and I think it's worth the money. Hopefully it won't decide to crap out on me (though to be fair, I was using the other one daily for 2-2.25 years without a hitch).

    I love my 220!

    - you can set workouts/intervals on the watch itself (no more HAVING to create them on the website and upload-- though you can create more varied ones online still)
-vibration for intervals and whatnot...great for running down busier roads or with headphones in
    -pace alarms
-lots of create info recorded that you can play around with on garmin connect
    -gets GPS fast
    -updates fast

Ok I did it! Just ordered it and it will be delivered tomorrow! I'm excited to have a non-touchy watch and something a little newer! The FR405 lasted six years, so I'm hoping I can get lots of wear out of this one too. Thanks for the feedback, everyone!
