Introduction of Me

Hi, I'm newly diagnosed with fibromyalgia and new to MFP. I bought myself a Fitbit on my 70th birthday, June 5, and have been working toward a goal of 4000 steps per day. I started at 1300 steps, mostly from bed to coach and out the door with my dogs. After years of telling Drs I hurt all over, I got very specific. It's not just my joints, I know that's arthritis which I've had for 50 years. Finally my Dr. heard me and poked me in all the right places. She wannted to put me on Celebrex, I think it was, but I couldn't afford what it would be per month. So, I'm trying diet and exercise. I'll need encouragement because I'm living alone with my three dogs, who are the reason I get off the coach at all. I could use form MFP friends and would love to exchange encouragement and information. Thanks, Shirley

    Hi!
I need a lot of encouragement too. I also have Fibro, but I'm 31 years old. Do you not have health insurance, or would they just not cover the Celebrex?

I'm currently on Lyrica, after trying pretty much every other Fibro med with no success - and it is helping a bit.

I'm trying to lose around 90lbs --so it's safe to say I'm in it for the long haul...it's going to take me a few years to take it off.

    Nice to meet you!
