Good morning! Happy July! It's my birth month! I do not like summer but I love me some birth month!

So, tell me, what are you going to do to make this July awesome and help reach your goals? I do notice I do really good in summer. I think the heat makes me less hungry in general and the swimming definitely helps. We are going to get some jetski time in and continue tackling the house.

I have one day to lose .4 pounds to reach my goal of 50 lbs in 90 days Lost. Honestly, 3 months ago I was down, didn't think it was possible but with each day it gets easier and easier. There are setbacks and rough days, but the time does fly by and before you know it...50lbs. Wow.

ohhh Heather you are so close!! You can do it! I find losing weight is easier in the summer too. Not just because the heat makes me feel like eating less, but the food choices are so much lighter than winter. Winter to me (especially in cold Maine) equals comfort foods. Meat and potatoes. Chilis. Casseroles with lots of cheese. Summer is fruits and veggies and salad and swimming! I have told myself that if I can lose weight all summer again this year (like I did last year) and then keep it off all winter that I am making gains. Even if I don't lose all winter. It will take me much longer to lose all that I want to, but it might make it a little less crazy for me. I'm hoping to lose 50 by Thanksgiving and I know that is totally doable.

Happy Birthday month!! Any other July birthdays out there??

It is going to be very muggy today. So the plan is to go to Build a Bear this morning with the kids and then spend the afternoon in the pool! I hope everyone has a great day.

Not a summer fan here, either. I do SO MUCH BETTER in cooler weather. In fact, I think it has been almost two weeks since I walked. I have this weird scaly blister thing that starts if I'm out in the sun for more than about 2-3 minutes. Crazy.

I'm a July birthday, also. The 13th. 7/13. Luckiest and unluckiest number in one nifty bundle. I always joke that I'm a paradox by birth. Anyway. I've never given the birth month thing much thought, but since becoming an adult (happened somewhere in my 20's), I have kind of stopped celebrating my birthday. No one else gives a hoot other than to send a random, half-hearted text, so it is kind of a non-day for me. And right now, being so broke, I'm not sure I will even have a place to celebrate it at this point... Anyway, enough pity party.

I have no plan for July. Except to maintain. I'm already back up to 250 (lowest was like 246.2 or something), and I just don't want to go back over 250. That was my birthday goal. I am burned out, lost, stressed, and just hoping I find it again. Not being able to afford decent food has been my biggest struggle, I think. That and getting burned when I EVEN think about going to workout...

So, wishing everyone a nice day.

Jumping IN.. not a summer lover, it's the humidity, it's a killer. Plus all the storms right now are useless for swimming, they keep closing the pool.

As for what I am going to do? Pull myself together and TRACK!! And I am going to stop feeling down and count my blessings!

I have completely jumped off track the last week, and eating my way back to fatland...ugggg. I will get back on track but the last 5 days or so have been awful.

Today we should reach 95 with 97% humidity, its disgusting! LOL. Why can't I live somewhere that stays in the 60-70s :(

Carly, I am totally going to read your story because I know you are really struggling.

However, I have to mention something about the Birthday Month.

I make it a big deal because I like to prep everyone to try and make me feel special. Hahaha. Truth is, the day does usually roll around and I am usually working and nothing special happens. We get older, that's it. I am always dieting so I won't allow cake. I always ask for balloons, and never get them. :grumble: However, my husband is really good about getting me grocery store flowers. Hey, beggars can't be choosers. I still appreciate them very much and also appreciate him not spending $100 on delivery charges.

In real life, I still haven't even let the admin here know when my birthday is. They put it on the board every month. I've been here, well this will be my 3rd year now and she hasn't caught me yet.

I will boast about in on Facebook and to my friends though. And remind them again and again.. It's a special month because yes, us July babies are extra special. :blushing:  :flowerforyou:

    Hello duckies!
I have a house full of guests and am busy in the lake and having fun.

Food got crazy here when one guest showed up with a huge box full of bread and chips etc. (Son works for Snyder and Pepperidge Farm) but I reclaimed my house and all crap food has been hidden away and fridge is full of fruit and veggies again.

Heather, for your birthday cake--you can buy a sugar free cake mix, bake it in a rectangle pan, poke holes in it with a wooden spoon handle, mix up and pour sugar free jello over it, then frost with sugar free cool whip. This is so easy your daughter can help you, so she can make her mama's birthday cake! It's called a poke cake--look up on Google.

Waving to everyone as I head back into lake! Enjoy the day!

So. In my email the other day I had a Staples ad, and it had a Bowflex strapless Heart Rate monitor for 90% off!!! It cost me $12.99 plus tax. The reason and I mean the ONLY reason I bought it was because it was such a deal AND it was water resistant up to 100ft! Perfect for my swimming in the pool. I figured it probably isn't the best quality if they are discounting it so much, but it will work for what I am looking for. So it came in the mail last night. Strapped it on today to go for a swim.... FAIL!!! It lasted about 40 secs in the water. UGH! Finished my swim, and came inside to see about getting a replacement and they are back up to full price! I was slightly irritated that a $12.99 watch wouldn't stand up to its description but also figured that may be why it was on sale! But it was just a daily deal! It's full price again! I am sure hoping that Staples stands behind it and maybe I just got a flukey one because maybe it was supposed to be a better "watch" than I thought!! Apparently I should watch the daily deals at Staples more often!!!!

Good evening everyone. Sorry I haven't really been posting a lot. I've been very frustrated lately. I'm doing everything right and the scale is going up. Got some advice from my gastric bypass support group last night and then talked with my therapist about it today. I'm hoping that I'll get past all of this soon and get that scale to go in the direction that it should be moving. It's so quiet around this house with Cody gone but I know he's having a blast with Uncle Bubba. Not sure what we're doing for the 4th yet but hopefully something fun. At least the weather is supposed to cooperate. Have a great evening everyone.

Heather - I'm really not one to make a big deal over myself. I am uncomfortable when others do it in too big of a way, but I don't mind big private celebrations or small public ones. I just know that for years, only my kiddo and sometimes my ex would do anything. I get the obligatory "I'm a good day, see I sent a pretty card" card from my dad every year, but it seems so overdone. Although I might not get one this year. I didn't get a Christmas greeting at all...had to call him. It's nice to feel like the forgotten child. But anyway. I got to the point where I was the only one working to make my birthday fun, and for me, that took all the fun out of it. I always went full-tilt boogie for the kiddo's events, and it just always made me sad that no one thought to do anything for me, really. Not even getting a night off from making dinner, usually. So that's why to maintain my sanity, it started becoming a non-day. Folks here at my office might kind of know when my birthday is, but we don't really celebrate them here. I get lots of Facebook messages, but not many actual calls or someone coming to visit... I'm hoping for a picnic or something from my guy this year. I probably ought to let him know that, because I learned the mild disappointment at having to spell out what I'd like is so much better than dropping hints and getting nowhere!

    Carly...

P.S. Glad you get and enjoy the flowers! I'm allergic to so many that if someone asks what my favorite flower is, I usually quipp, "Fake." Don't know why they don't understand you want balloons, especially if you've come out and told them! If you get the metallic ones, you can let out the air and flatten them to keep! *rolls eyes* Why is it that when we come out and spell things out in black and white, they think we are dancing around what we "really" want? Or they give us the type of "celebration" they would want?? *SIGH*

P.S. My little sister's name is Heather, so every time I see your name, I think of her. Granted, she's not so little now. She'll be 34 this year and is an Army EOD specialist. LOL But she'll always be 4.5 years younger than me!
