Help on patterns?

So I'm not overly familiar with working from patterns. Everything that I've made has been from a handmade pattern or just a modification of existing clothes. Some friends and I have been working on some ballgowns that someone on tumblr designed. I found some that I can use with some existing modifications, but one of my friends is not as lucky and she turned to me for help. Does anyone have any ideas what patterns could be spliced together to use for this? Because I'm drawing a blank.

wow. well, look in mccalls or simplicity costume section. Now is a good time, since most patterns go on sale after Halloween.
It's surprising to me how many victorian, steam punk and renn. patterns are available now!
