pregnant? false positive?

hi ladies. I am currently breastfeeding my 8 month old. I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it said positive so then I took 3 more that evening and they said negative then my period started today. I have heard false positives are rare but could this be the case or do you think I am pregnant?

    Did you check it within the right window of time? I've heard tests falsely turning positive after sitting out for 10 min. It doesn't sound like you are pregnant, based on everything else :(

    I'd try a Clear Blue digital one (if they sell them where you live) as they're more accurate. I had heard it was rare to get false positives.

    Were the negative ones the same brand of test as the positive one?

    I had negatives to begin with in 2 of my pregnancies from the cheaper tests.

    It was probably an evap line (false positive). Blue tests (Clear Blue Easy) supposedly get those more than pink tests (First Response).

    Or it could have been a chemical pregnancy
