What were the results of your EKG? Did you get a copy or did the tech say anything?

I would imagine that you'll be quickly cleared for surgery.

Not to me. Though there are a lot of reasons why you might have an abnormal EKG, and not all of them would prevent you from having surgery. See what the cardiologist says! Good luck.

Not me but the husband failed several through the years. They will need to determine if there is a blockage and maybe treat it prior to surgery, but since the WLS is so beneficial to the heart and heart issues, I can't see this putting too much of a delay in your progress.

Also, I couldn't get through the treadmill KEG, they had to do a checmical EKG on me. So I wonder which yours was and if it was treadmill, is it possible the failure is being obese and out of shape?

You could also just have an idiosyncratic rhythm. Talk to the cardiologist. Don't worry about what you don't know about yet. All my best that it works out for you.

My EKG was also abnormal. I had been to the cardiologist for other reasons and after a new EKG he cleared me. My old EKG showed that I had a silent infarct dating back to 2009. It was stable and I have no symptoms so he was able to clear me. It's really a good thing because you will have a better assurance that you will not have any complications during surgery. Trust in God. It will be OK.

Thanks everyone! I got cleared for surgery yesterday :) They said it was stress. Your fiance leaving less than two weeks before your surgery will do that to you! They still want to do an echocardiagram as the third test, but they sent the clearance paperwork to my surgeon yesterday. 12 days!!!!

So happy for you that you got cleared! Yes stress can and does mess with the body. Sorry about the fiance. Their loss as you are only going to get healthier and more beautiful from here on in!
