Have you been to a taster session? Most gyms here have a free taster you can attend.
Expect to have lots of friendly people support you and cheer you on. :drinker: Expect to hurt for a few days after, especially at the beginning. Expect to surprise yourself with what you are capable of.
Seriously, the social aspect is not to be underestimated. It's a great atmosphere.
How often is up to you. I can work through a bit of soreness and usually know when I need a rest day. I do 3 or 4 days a week but I also do 2 or 3 days of cycling fairly long distances, so I'll usually have one rest day in seven. If I wasn't cycling as well I'd probably Crossfit 5 or 6 days.0 -

I go 3 times a week. You are going to be quite sore after your first class so you might find that a challenge. I strongly suggest going back even if you are stiff as a board. The warmup will help get you loosened up (and will likely be one heck of a workout in and of itself.)
Do a lot of stretching, mobility work, foam rolling. That will minimize pain.
Work on good form and technique first, then start adding weight and intensity. Getting injured will not help you reach your goals.
Hope you enjoy Crossfit. I'm a year into it and still loving it.0 -
Hi There
I go 4 times a week, you should expect the first week to be difficult but once you start getting the movements down and build confidence it gets "easier" but... nothing about it is easy. By the end of the third week you are going to love it and look forward to seeing what that days WOD is.
My advice is to stretch, do the mobility techniques they show you, learn to love the foam roller and be ready to do things you never thought possible.
and have FUN!0
